Misc. BS

Got the call last night, and an interview is set for Tuesday afternoon. After a brief phone conversation, she said she could meet today at noon, but GOOD GAWD, that wouldn't give me enough time to find something to wear.

Speaking of something to wear, I have nothing! I don't want to go buy a new outfit for this interview, but I have no idea what I'm going to put together. urgh. I'm also worried about the interview questions. They're always so stupid, and I'm out of practice. What the hey, I'm going to try to be honest, without being an idiot. I'd like the job, but thankfully, I don't NEED it. If it's offered, I'm not even sure I'll take it. It really depends on the hours involved. I don't need the hassle of childcare problems.

One of the main reasons I'm considering this job is the freaking high cost of healthcare. I'm hoping they offer something, but even if they don't, I could use the extra money to help pay premiums on our existing (SHITTY) policy. Right now we pay $500 a month for a huge deductible policy. Insurance for the self-employed sucks rocks.

In other news, Mom and Dad are back from their marathon cruise. Dad should start chemo soon. He's been feeling fine so far, and I worry that once the treatment starts, he'll get worse before (if) he gets better. I don't think there is much chance of a cure, but the doctors have given us no indication of how much time he might have. I haven't told the kids yet, I figure I'll wait until he starts feeling bad. I dunno. It's not a big secret or anything, but DD is highly emotional these days, and I just don't want to add to it right now. I won't lie to them, or anything, I just won't go out of my way to tell them until it's necessary.

The non-diet is still working. Down another pound. That makes 4 lbs in less than 2 weeks! I try to exercise at least 5 days a week. I've got a recumbent bike and a bowflex machine that I've been using. I just pedal away as I catch up on stuff collected on TIVO.

Survivor is bad this season. I don't like any of the players yet. Heck, I can hardly tell who's who. I don't like the location. Survivor should always be on the beach, IMO. Who wants to see a bunch of puking, dehydrated, sweaty people! Not me. At least they have clothing this time. One more season of ill fitting bras and granny panties would have done me in. The challenges have sucked so far too. They're too violent, and too physical for the climate and the competitors. If they keep it up, they'll be dragging out bodies before we get to the merge. I want to see the Survivors having SOME fun. This season is just miserable.
